This town, known as the Friendly City, and its surroundings, is the site of most of the Frontier Wars. These were fought between settlers and the Xosa tribes, whose expansion due to ever growing cattle herds brought them into competition with the settlers for land. It is from here that the Boers decided to trek when the British abolished slavery. You will have a guide to show you the sights and give you a comprehensive run-down on its interesting history.

Day 11 — 15

Cape Town B&B

This afternoon you will be transferred to the airport to fly to Cape Town, where you will be met and transferred to your luxury hotel at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Check in and go down into the Waterfront, where you have a choice of many restaurants and music clubs (mostly jazz). The next three days will be fully guided and will include Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula, the City with its Slave Lodge and Castle, the Wine Country, Robben Island, the Cape of Good Hope and many more splendid sights. Your fourth day in Cape Town will be a "down" day. This is to give you the opportunity to do some last minute shopping, see those things that are of interest to some and not to others — i.e. a day of personal choices.
